After leaving school, many students from our institution have employment needs. However, practical experience has shown that many students face challenges such as not understanding job search platforms, lacking job-hunting tools, insufficient interview skills, and poor job stability. To help students prepare for employment and enhance their job adaptation abilities, we have partnered with the Zhubei Employment Center of the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch of the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, to organize an employment adaptation group.
This group invited social worker Ms. Fang-Ying Zhang to lead six sessions from July 17, 2024, to August 28, 2024. Each session lasts two hours and covers topics such as interview skills, resource introductions, job search platforms, resume writing, and exploring personal strengths. Through activities like card games, videos, and practical resume writing exercises, students were guided in discussions aimed at improving their job search skills and future job stability.
The final session included an introduction by the Zhubei Employment Center to its services, such as job matching, vocational training, and related subsidies, which students can access if needed.
The group was attended by 10 students recommended by their class advisors, with a total of 43 student participations. Feedback from students indicated that the content was more lively and engaging compared to regular lectures, and that sharing among group members allowed them to gain insights and prepare for post-graduation employment.
